Blessed and grateful to be here

Knightsbridge residents Kim, David and Brooke (13) Becker in London last summer.

Kim, David and Brooke Becker are relative newcomers to Castle Pines. They bought a house in the Knightsbridge neighborhood in 2022, moving from southern California.

“It was hard to give up the beach but I knew as long as the mountains had lakes and streams – a water component – I would be fine,” Kim said with a laugh.

Kim said that she and David had visited Colorado many times through the years and were ready for a change of lifestyle. After the pandemic, they made the move when Brooke finished elementary school.

The Beckers looked at and visited many areas around Colorado and realized they loved the mature trees, wildlife and open spaces of Castle Pines. Kim was especially sold when she researched the school district in Douglas County.

Kim and David met in high school but did not begin dating until after college. “I did not marry my high school sweetheart; I married a sweetheart I went to high school with,” joked David.

Growing up in the San Fernando Valley, Kim attended UC Santa Barbara majoring in psychology.

After college, she worked in the bridal industry and then found her way into a long career in marketing and advertising, working for large and small agencies. Kim said she is thankful for her past career, but she missed some milestones with Brooke. Today, she is interested in clean eating and works as a nutrition coach as well as selling Arbonne products from her home. She volunteers for two nonprofits.

“I am grateful. I have a supportive husband and can be a more present mom, connected with a more positive community,” said Kim.

David is also from the San Fernando Valley and is a real estate broker, who is licensed in both California and Colorado. He enjoys skiing and golf.

Brooke attends Rocky Heights Middle School and is focused on maintaining her high grades and volleyball, playing the outside hitter position at the middle school and in a league.

The Beckers have a dog, Kona, and enjoy community events, hiking, camping and exploring the state, especially the mountain towns. Kim and David have started to play pickleball.

“We love the feel and the friendliness of Castle Pines. We are so grateful every day that we live where we live,” concluded Kim.
