The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has these tips for residents of the county in case an evacuation is necessary. It encouranges everyone to be prepared ahead of time.
Here are some suggestions and items to have:
A three-day supply of medications, extra water and food, cash or credit cards, important documents
Emergency phone numbers and contacts, extra phone batteries and chargers
Food and other needs for small and large animals
Know the quickest evacuation route, should there be an evacuation, and have a full gas tank
