Roxanne Mount thought she would never leave New York, but Colorado worked its magic. Having grown up in Westchester County, Roxanne attended college and then landed a job with Starwood Hotels, launching an exciting career in hospitality, brand management and development, communication and PR as well as social content strategy.

Roxanne shared, “I fell in love with hotels and wanted to stay in that industry. I love that feeling of making someone feel at home.”

The vast majority of her career was in New York City, but that changed in 2020.

A job offer brought Roxanne west, though she had only been here once before. Looking for a fresh start after losing her mom, Roxanne took the leap. Shortly after she started dating her now husband, Greg, and gaining stride in her new job, the pandemic hit.

“I said I was never going to get married, but I blame Covid since we quarantined together,” Roxanne said laughingly. The couple married in December 2020 with an intimate ceremony in their living room in Castle Rock due to Covid restrictions.

The pandemic forced the Mounts to venture into new areas and grow in new ways. Roxanne went into freelance mode helping companies with social media and PR, then started her own creative marketing agency named 10 and 5 Creative, referring to the hospitality term of always making eye contact when a customer is within ten feet and greeting them when they are within five feet. Greg started a hotel development company with his extensive experience in the industry.

Roxanne and Greg have melded their talents into a new enterprise, opening Olive Juice Beauty Bar (OJBB) in Highlands Ranch last May. They picked the name OJBB because of the trend of mouthing “olive juice” to mean “I love you,” similar lip movements when said across a room. OJBB offers a menu of treatments from manicures to facials and massages.

Blending the couple’s love of travel and hospitality, they created a space meant to feel like a Mediterranean oasis with old-world charm at OJBB. “With our background, we wanted to make it more like a hotel experience, warm and welcoming. We want you to stay and linger, have a drink and escape, dream and relax,” Roxanne explained. The stunning mountain views add to the serenity, while music from icons such as Nat King Cole and Ella Fitzgerald play in the background.

When the Mounts are not at OJBB, they are at home in their new neighborhood, The Canyons, with an adorable golden doodle named Indie Reese that Greg gave Roxanne for her birthday. They adopted Indie’s sister, Poppy, last month. Roxanne is a very proud aunt to her niece and nephew.

The Mounts honeymooned in Italy and they hope to do more traveling in the future.
