Another great year for iconic Ducky Derby race

The Rotary Club of Castle Rock held its 23rd Annual Ducky Derby fundraiser and family fun festival at Festival Park in downtown Castle Rock in June. The event featured a variety of street vendors, live entertainment, face painting, a bouncy castle and the event finale – the Ducky Derby race.
More than 8,000 duckies were launched this year into Plum Creek and $3,500 in cash prizes were awarded. This year’s lucky top prize winner for the $2,000 cash prize was Pam Nelson. Proceeds from this year’s event will be distributed to local nonprofits, including Crisis Center, Hope & Help Center, Sky Cliff Center, Wellspring Community and Colorado Horsepower.
