Annual Furry Scurry Planned for May 3

by Elean Gersack

The 2008 Furry Scurry two mile fun walk will take place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, at Washington Park in Denver.

According to the Denver Dumb Friends League, more than 25,000 cats and dogs, as well as rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils and other small pets, are brought to the shelters each year. An average of $17,500 is spent daily to care for them. One hundred percent of the pledges raised from the Furry Scurry will support these efforts.

During the event, enjoy refreshments, activities and pet-friendly merchandise and make plans to enter the Pet/Person Look-alike Contest at 10:15 a.m. and Best Pet Trick Contest at 11:00 a.m. The cost to register is $50 per person.
