An anniversary that was twice as nice
Jon and Tera Radloff celebrated 20 years of marriage in June – two times on two different June 14ths.
The story began when the couple planned a trip to New Zealand, Tahiti and Bora Bora to commemorate the anniversary.
The first stop was in Auckland on June 14, the Radloff’s anniversary. They enjoyed touring and dinner with champagne overlooking the Auckland Harbor at sunset.
“The next day (June 15), we were flying to Tahiti which meant crossing the International Date Line (IDL),” stated Jon. “Halfway to Tahiti we magically transitioned from June 15 to June 14 so that when we landed, we got to celebrate our 20th anniversary all over again; but this time in Tahiti!”
Jon continued to explain the challenges of booking vacations across the IDL. “On our way to New Zealand we lost an entire day,” he said. “We left on June 6 and arrived on June 8. Where did June 7 go? We lost it forever.”
The couple enjoyed their anniversary trip and will always remember their double celebration.
