American Academy parents honor husband; father
Article and photo by Kathy Dunker
American Academy (AA) recently had three young trees planted in front of its cafeteria. The ornamental pear trees were donated by Alameda Wholesale, owned by AA parents Steve and Jackie Brown, and planted by AA parent John Gibson of Swingle Tree, Lawn and Landscape Care.
The trees were in bloom last spring when AA parent, Todd Swift, died very suddenly.
Each tree was selected because of its spring beauty, and to memorialize Swift’s strong spirit for his three children who are all AA students.
Intended to serve as a reminder of Swift’s love and his life, the trees make a beautiful and meaningful addition to the AA landscape.
