On October 3, American Academy (AA) in Castle Pines hosted two VIPs who stopped by for a quick visit to the campus. Colorado Representative Bob Beauprez and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie both arrived to the school around 11 a.m. with a full press junket. They were able to spend about 30 minutes with AA students and then held a brief press conference.
Beauprez and Christie both sat down in the library to read a few books to a class of subdued and slightly starry-eyed AA first graders.
Beauprez opened with the classic “If You Give a Moose a Muffin” and Christie followed up with “What! Cried Granny,” a story he and his own children enjoyed together. They then took a quick tour to the second floor STEM lab to watch the one of the school’s First Lego League Robotics students in action. The students were able to spend a few minutes explaining and demonstrating some of the challenge projects they are currently working on.
The visit wrapped up with a brief press conference in the American Academy library.
