American Academy does Anastasia
The American Academy cast brought the Anastasia fairy tale to life in three performances at the PACE Center – Parker Arts. The story follows the legend of Russian princess Anastasia, who loses all memories of being a princess when her family’s palace is overrun by the evil wizard Rasputin. Living as Anya, the tale follows the brave young woman’s search for her mysterious past.
Savannah Ballenger as Countess Ipolitov who recognizes Anya as Anastasia at a train station. Count Ipolitov leads everyone in a prayer of farewell to Russia as they board the train to Paris.
Wearing a red ballroom dress, Anya, played by eighth grader Reese Pucciano, has discovered her past as Princess Anastasia.
