Agents of Discovery: a new app for the great outdoors

Want to get outside with the family this spring and summer?

For years, Douglas County Division of Open Space and Natural Resources provided a fun program, a scavenger hunt, encouraging residents to get outside and explore the 65,000 acres of open space and trails in Douglas County. Before 2025, booklets provided by the county were hand-written by explorers to track progress. Today, there is an app for the program: Agents of Discovery.

Once downloaded, the user can choose from dozens of “missions,” and Agent Chucky Beaver appears to guide you through to conquer quests, ace trivia and complete challenges.

Each month, a new Douglas County-specific mission will be downloaded.

Agents of Discovery is free to the user and sponsored jointly by Douglas County Division of Open Space and Natural Resources and Douglas Land Conservancy. Visit douglas.co.us/open-space-natural-resources/ to learn more.
