AdventHealth Castle Rock received $5 million, its largest-ever donation, from Lisa and Randy Schrader through the Schrader Family Fund. The Rock of Hope campaign’s goal is to reach $14 million in order to bring cancer treatment services to the community, hopefully as soon as 2025.

On June 20, AdventHealth honored the Schrader family and officially announced that the Palmer Building was renamed the Schrader Building. The facility will house chemotherapy, oncology, radiation and other treatment services, as well as a surgery center and orthopedic services.

“Seeing the support of the community and knowing that cancer care is going to become a reality, that is what today means,” said Randy Schrader at the dedication.

As of June 2024, the Rock of Hope campaign has raised more than 55% of the $14 million needed to complete the project.

On an annual basis, more than 500 residents seek cancer treatment and currently have to travel outside of Castle Rock to receive it.
