A Wicked good time

American Academy students enjoyed four full days in Manhattan while touring popular sights like Times Square and the Statue of Liberty.

The World Trade Center, Ellis Island and a stroll through Central Park are all must-dos when visiting New York City (NYC). American Academy fifth to eighth students spent four days seeing the sights of New York. When they were not sightseeing, they were busy working with Alison Jantzie, the Wicked understudy for the witch’s mother and midwife, as well as a ‘swing’ or fill in for all female ensemble roles. She is also a Rockette at Radio City Music Hall.

Students also had the opportunity to learn improv from Angela Pierce, a working actor in NYC. While NYC was a wonderful place to highlight professional theater opportunities and performance careers, the trip was a magical experience for all travelers with memories to last a lifetime.
