A toy for every precious child

American Academy held a school-wide toy drive for nonprofit A Precious Child. Ms. Combs’ middle school class gathered 130 toys which won the class a popcorn party.

Before the holidays, American Academy (AA) hosted an all-school toy drive for A Precious Child (APC), a nonprofit based in Colorado that helps families living in poverty.

At the end of the two-week toy drive, AA collected more than 1,300 new toys.  “It was incredibly impressive to see everything come together on the last day,” said Erin Dill, dean of students.

The toys were delivered to APC where parents shopped for their children. APC staff members provided wrapping paper for parents to take home so they could personally wrap their toy gifts for their children to have on Christmas morning.
