A new salon with an encouraging culture

Business partners Kim Trumbull and Harmony Jolly are bringing their style to Castle Pines. In August, they opened their second Origins Salon, which offers an array of beauty services for men and women, at the Village Shops. They opened the first Origins Salon in downtown Castle Rock in 2018.

Kim and Harmony have each spent more than 20 years working in different facets of the beauty industry, including behind the chair, sales and educating on stage at hair shows – known as a platform artist; this is a huge accomplishment in the beauty industry.

Over the years of touring salons around the country, Kim and Harmony noticed many salon owners were not successful at teaching their stylists how to be individually profitable while providing a great experience for clients.

“We have an encouraging culture in our salons. It is team-based. We empower and support each other. I believe it is one of the reasons we are as successful as we have been,” Kim explained.

After many years of continued success at their Castle Rock location, running between 93-98% productivity of full chairs at their salon, which is above industry standard, Kim and Harmony knew it was time to open a second location.

“Castle Pines is a niche market. We had this spot on our radar for a couple of years and knew it would be a great opportunity to serve the Castle Pines community,” Kim shared. “So, when the opportunity came to rent this space, we took it immediately. Everyone has been so welcoming in the Village.”

Kim and Harmony believe opening two salons is the biggest accomplishment of their careers. They plan to continue their business partnership and someday franchise Origins Salon across Colorado with some of their teammates.

“We consider running a business an opportunity, an honor and a privilege,” they agreed.

When Kim and Harmony are not at work, Kim enjoys outdoor activities with her family, anything from hiking to hunting or scuba diving. Harmony enjoys spending quality time with her grandchildren and attending concerts.
