A fun way to kick off the school year

The Timber Trail Elementary (TTE) Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) held its second annual Back-to-School Bash on August 23 for all students, families and staff. DJ Daniel Garcia spun the latest hits while food trucks, Colorado Pig Rig and Moontime Crepes provided the fare.

The school grounds turned into a big playground with games and face painting. The event was not only filled with entertainment, but also gave TTE families and staff an opportunity to meet and get to know one another.

“We are thrilled that this event has been embraced by our community as a fun way to kick off the school year. Our students loved being with classmates while enjoying bounce houses, crafts, food trucks, a DJ, and soaking our staff and principals with buckets of water,” said Emily Fera, a member of the PTO.

Once again, TTE partnered with the Backpack Society, a nonprofit that provides weekend meals in unmarked backpacks for worthy students. TTE families were encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to the bash, which resulted in 182 pounds of donated food.
