Saturday October 2 found Buffalo Ridge Elementary (BRE) buzzing with community activity. The main attraction was the return of the Rock Slide Fun Run to the neighborhood. More than 350 runners and walkers came out for the event showing their school spirit as they ran through the streets of Castle Pines North.

After the run, participants were treated to a waffle from Denver’s famous Waffle Brother’s and had the opportunity to shop for books at BRE’s fall book fair. “Those were without a doubt the best waffles I’ve ever tasted! They had to have some magical ingredient, because I ate mine and any crumbs that were leftover on the girl’s plates,” commented a very satisfied runner.

Awards were given out to students who showed the most school spirit. Congratulations to Jordan G., Carlie and Ryan W., Emersen M., Pacey H., Celeb J., and Shae O. In addition the entire second grade was recognized for having the most class participation.

Teachers were also recognized for their spirit participation. Congratulations to Mrs. Guiterrez, Mrs. Jacoway, Mrs. Shaffner, Mrs. Brester and Mrs. Pedrett
