It must have been the Buffalo Ridge Elementary (BRE) staff’s favorite day of the year on December 15. Yes, that is right. It was the 9th annual cookie exchange held in the staff lounge. Numerous families pitched in to bring three dozen of their favorite holiday cookies or treats to share with the BRE staff to let them know how much they are appreciated.
Staff members were able to collect their bounty of goods in cheery Christmas boxes to take home and enjoy over their break. One substitute teacher was overheard saying, “You know, I’ve taught at a lot of schools. But no other school does this. This is awesome!”
Music teacher Cathy Deneault looked downright giddy as she stepped up to collect her sugary goods.
Oatmeal, chocolate chip, donut holes, fudge, brownies, chocolate dipped pretzels, you name it, were all in abundance and brought many smiles to those gathering up their tasty treats. Some goodies were homemade and some were store bought, but they all were eagerly rounded up with enthusiasm by the BRE crew.
