93rd Academy Awards
The 93rd Academy Awards, originally scheduled for February 28, will now take place Sunday, April 25. The awards show will honor movies released in 2020. This is the fourth time in Oscar history that the event has been postponed. The other postponed ceremonies followed the Los Angeles flooding in 1938, the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in 1968, and the attempted assassination of President Ronald Reagan in 1981. To allow for COVID-19 social distancing, the Academy will host an in-person awards show at both Union Station in Los Angeles and the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland center. Join in on the fun with family and friends with the Oscar ballot pictured below. Cast your votes and see which movies are the winners in Castle Pines. If you host a “watch party,” we want to hear about it and share your pictures. Email editor@castlepinesconnection.com.
