2006 Election Information
Vote Centers
For the Primary Election, held August 8 and the General Election, held November 7, Douglas County voters will not report to their precinct voting place. Instead, there will be voting centers located across the county.
Voters may choose to vote at any of the countywide centers. The Castle Pines North Community Center, located at 7404 Yorkshire Drive, is the voting center for Castle Pines North; however, residents can choose to vote at any of the vote centers. Primary Elections
On August 8, Democrat and Republican voters will head to the polls to choose which candidate from the respective political party will run for office. The winning candidates from each of these parties will later run against each other in the general election held November 7.
Primary elections are open only to those registered members of a particular party. Unaffiliated voters that wish to vote in the Primary Election must declare an affiliation with a political party. Affiliation may be declared up to, and including Primary Election Day.
Douglas County citizens will have the option for early voting in the Primary Election at five voting sites. Early voting will run July 31 through August 4. Early voting cites will be open 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. The five voting sites include:

General Elections
The General Election will be held November 7. Polls will be open on Election Day from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
To obtain an absentee ballot, voters must submit an application annually after January 1. If a voter requests an absentee ballot, the voter will not be allowed to vote by any other means. Absentee ballots are sent out about 30 days prior to election and must be received back in the elections office by 7 p.m. on election Day. To request a form, visit www.DouglasVotes.com.
